Our partners at the Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center (RRSBDC) are seeking an artist(s) to create site-specific original artwork for National Small Business Week.
The RRSBDC is located in the business district of Downtown Roanoke, physical address: 210 South Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA.
This opportunity is open to established professional artists. The application deadline is 5:00 PM on Friday, August 6, 2021 (Eastern Standard Time).
The location for the window art installation is the glass windows on the first floor that are the reverse of the RRSBDC offices, and conference rooms. Jefferson street is a major thoroughfare inDowntown Roanoke. The site-specific work shall:
- Demonstrate artist excellence
- Enhance the front windows on Jefferson Street with a distinctive aesthetic experience both highly visible and welcoming to pedestrians, bicyclists, vehicles, and passersby
- Celebrate small businesses as the heartbeat of our communities
- Be an original art piece appropriate for outdoor installation on glass that will be able to stand up to severe weather.
