The biggest challenge for this year is that we had no 8th grade students participate in our Women’s History Month Visual Literacy program. We work directly with Crystal DeLong, the social studies coordinator at RCPS. She reported to us that she could not get any teachers to sign up for the program this year. With continued school budget cuts, we’re concerned about this program for next year. We plan to meet with Crystal to figure out if the program is still viable for 2027 and whether we need to adapt it to better align with the curriculum for 8th grade.
