Lansdowne Street Mural

Driven by community engagement, there’s a new plan to slow traffic and make Salem Turnpike a safer and more colorful street to walk and drive in Northwest Roanoke. And guess what?! You can be part of this historic project, the likes of which our community has not before seen.

We’re getting pretty full with volunteers, but keep signing up. You never know what a rain date would do, and there are many jobs in addition to painting.

Registered volunteers will help out during one of two 3.5 hour slots: 9AM-12:30 PM or 12:30-4 PM. #lansdownestreetmural

We have the following jobs:

1. Painting
2. Taking photos and posting on all socials. #LansdowneStreetMural
3. Sitting at the volunteer table and checking people in and making surety are equipped with safety vests.=
4. Being extra eyes on the traffic and or assist with parking. Arrive at 8.30 am or 12 noon.
5. Helping the artists on site who will be working with the neighborhood children. (Second Shift 12.30 – 4 pm only)
