» On the podcast: Art as curiosity prompt with Rachel Hopkins

In The Art of It: Conversations on Creativity and Leadership with the Roanoke Arts Commission, we’re focusing our attention on our partners: the arts organizations we fund, the colleagues who help make projects happen, and our leaders thoughtful on the role of the arts and humanities in our lives.

Check out our conversation with Rachel Hopkins, Executive Director of the Science Museum of Western Virginia.

The Science Museum of Western Virginia makes an art of engaging us in the world around us. Hopkins describes the process of using artists to help interpret concepts. “Science is everything,” says Hopkins, “as is art.”

Rachel Hopkins brings a background in creative placemaking, nonprofit management, scientific editing, and curiosity to her work building a first-rate team addressing current challenges ahead while staying on mission.
