Kindness stones were once again a great hit!! Some folks would make only one and take it-or leave it. Some folks would just take a stone with them. And then there were family groups that just hung out for 30 minutes making multiple stones. These groups were most receptive to receiving the invitation to use the Arts Catalog. I met a young man named Brandon who I learned was just tapped to be an artist-in-residence. He was excited to learn about the catalog.
We experienced rain and wind. We survived the first wave around 5:30 pm, however, it wiped out the initial
Chalk ways invitation I drew on the street. The off and on drizzle prohibited further chalk engagement. Although prepared for inclement weather with ziplock bags to protect the arts catalogs, I had no such protection for the chalk!! I lost a half box of chalk when it melted in the rain. Also, during the frantic load out when the 8:15 downpour came, one of the wheels came off my wagon and dumped all the supplies into the parking lot. Tough night!

From your perspective, what would be a good next step for the neighborhood in building engagement and momentom?

I think engaging with some performances or community dance or drumming would be successful.
