Please describe the outcomes of your activity. What did you learn? What made you the most proud of the effort?

Jon was leading residents in painting river rocks in jeweled tones. It was fun to look at the rocks I brought and discerning the same tones. Though one would call the stones “grey”, further inspection revealed the purple, ochre, green and pink tones.
The ancestor prompt I use resonated with this group. “It is perfectly possible to come upon a stone your ancestor once held! If it had a message, what ancestral wisdom would be given to you?” One woman was taking a break from moving from one house to another. She said, “They would tell me to ‘CHILL!’” We had a good laugh on that.

From your perspective, what would be a good next step for the neighborhood in building engagement and momentom?

I think getting the word out more so more residents could be involved with the mural.
