This day we brought drums in. Children got to connect the movement we were creating with the beats emanating from the drumskins…and then children transitioned to drumming- and expressed themselves in a way that surpassed raw talent, but rather reflected an ‘intuitive remembering.’ of these practices. It was amazing to see! And it was a display of the type of ‘connection’ that is precisely why I am called to do this work. The children felt confident in themselves (so much so that they started commanding/attempting to lead the adults in their drumming!!)

(I also have video that can be shared by email.)

From your perspective, what would be a good next step for the neighborhood in building engagement and momentom?

Expanding this, and regularizing this…

*Interweaving it with other arts programs,
*Partnering it with one other perhaps (and rotating the partner activity)
*Definitely weaving it into Daisy Art 😃parade
(as the children love do engage, but have little physical resilience, right now, but so that we can keep them enshrined with art instead of losing them to video games when they need to break from physical movement- but still have focusable energy.)
