The RSO’s annual Symphony Under the Stars event has been extremely lucky over its history, having never been rained out! However, this year there was a storm predicted to hit Roanoke at 7:00 p.m. the evening of the concert. While that did not actually materialize, we did see an impact from the forecast in lower attendance than last year’s record-breaking numbers. Nonetheless, over 3,000 individuals turned out for a wonderful night of music!

We are grateful to the Arts Commission for this continued funding, and are happy to announce that the expenses were fully covered this year by the return of Gentry Locke as a sponsor, and two new sponsorships: Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport and the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
