| Quarter | Q4 April – June |
| Are you on track for the grant deliverables? | No |
| What challenges are you having in undertaking the activities, and will you be able to get it on track by the end of the grant term (June 30)? | End of the school year had some challenges in getting the trunk out to schools, as most grades were deep in SOL testing, and couldn’t deviate from their schedules/lesson plans. While we didn’t quite meet the goal of 2400 kids, the first year was strong with just over 1500 students reached, and I think the program will only grow. The most requested trunks were the Ancient Mali and the Native American Life. From the museums’ current exhibits, some of the hands on materials will be converted into trunks, which will allow multiple trunks covering the same material to be dispersed at the same time, reaching even more classrooms. We had several classrooms ask for specific trunks to meet certain SOL criteria, which we are happy to accommodate. The need is there, and we’re excited to be able to fulfill it! Thank you for the opportunity for us to get this program started, and to get it in the school systems! |
