SMWV faced the challenge of facility flooding in September 2024, resulting in halted operations and challenging circumstances for our STEAM-based programming and events. Nevertheless, we held STEAM day in November, drawing 300 attendees. Additionally, we’ve lined up arts and cultural events, with our next event to be held in February in collaboration with Roanoque Baroque, February 22nd + 23rd: Roanoque Baroque + The Eye Presents: In Gardens & Palaces with the Sons of JS Bach & Handel. We expect our events and film festival to take off in the remainder of the grant term as we fully resume operations and event capacity.
