Describe the proposed work or project.

For a decade, we have been continuing to being Grandma’s hands in the community. As a result, young people have stayed in school while making good grades, able to eat, participate in activities, that normally wouldn’t be able to stand up for different causes, travel to places to learn more about different cultures, participate in music workshops, educate on teenage pregnancy, gangs and being against gun violence. The proposal below is for the sole submission for seeking funds for community youth, ages “4-17” to continue to support our youth in participating in culture activities, dance, fashion shows and other culture performances throughout the Roanoke Valley. This document has been created to provide insight on the level of specificity needs across the board within the organization.

How will the work advance wellness, justice, or inclusion in Roanoke? Consider a community issue that you hope to address, something you want to celebrate or a condition you want to change.

• Provides aid with paying for and picking up medication when needed.
• Setup programs during spring break and summer break
• Assist in finding healthy homes for youth, when needed while monitoring and ensuring their safety.
• DaHumble Beez Inc. has teamed up with other organizations (Community ARTS Reach, Project Discovery, Goodwill, etc.).
• DaHumble Beez Inc. continues working with and emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community while being an outstanding citizen.
• I transport the youth in our personal vehicle to the different activities. This includes picking them up and dropping back off.

When do you anticipate undertaking the work? If the project is tied to a set event or date, let us know.

We are currently setting up activities for February 2024 thru June 2024. We are working on projects for Valentines Day for the youth in dance and other cultural events.

Are there partners in this effort? If so describe the partnerships and what each partner brings.

No.

Your theory of change: How will the work advance your efforts as an artist toward an established goal? How will you, a partner organization, or the community be changed?
