Expand RVCC programming and develop workshops that can be provided free of charge to interested parties including Roanoke City schools, Head Start programs, and YMCAs in the area. Tailored to meet
SOLs for elementary and middle school students, the curriculum covers music reading, vowel sounds,
vocal warm-ups, proper singing techniques, breathing exercises, and music theory. Funding will support a dedicated director and accompanist as well as specially designed and tailored music booklets to reinforce these techniques. As many new choristers to the main RVCC choir who attended workshops in the past requested tuition assistance, funding will also be used to offer scholarships to those who need them utilizing RVCC’s existing financial aid framework.
