Neighborhood Centers Artist in Residence

Artist Polly Branch is the 2022-23 Neighborhood Centers Artist in Residence.

Polly’s work spans sculpture, mosaics, murals, book illustrations and paintings. She works in clay, plaster or mixed media to create figurative sculpture. She paints landscapes, figures and dreamlike images in acrylic with a rich realism that indicates her close relationship with nature. Additionally she has maintained for decades a very active community arts practice with an emphasis on justice and place.

The neighborhood centers effort is a strategy of the City of Roanoke to understand what makes neighborhood hubs vibrant and how the community might accelerate their development across all parts of the city. Read the Emerging Neighborhoods Vision Report here.
