Power Through Drumming: Reclaiming Women’s History

In this 90-minute workshop, percussionist Linda Macchia will share her knowledge of the frame drum. As a drum student of the late Layne Redmond, author of the book When the Drummers Were Women, Linda will teach the techniques and history of the pre-Christian era women of the Mediterranean and Western Asia. Frame drum circles, rituals and songs bring women back to their ancestry and spiritual power.

Requirements: Indoors or outdoors, weather permitting, and chairs set up in a circle.
