I was born in Roanoke in 1992. We moved away and when I was a teenager we moved back. I attended and graduated from Roanoke city public schools. I have had 2 sons at Roanoke Memorial met my husband at the Sonic Drive In on Rutgers Road. I have utilized public transportation throughout my life. In high school riding the Vallet metro to and from school. My family loves Roanoke for the outdoors and activities. We chose to buy our house near Downtown.

I am very artistic in many ways. I love to refurbish furniture and anything that can have a second life. I create seasonal and holiday crafts with my family. I have started a mural inside our home. I write small pieces when I’m feeling a lot of feelings. I have used various medias.

I am interested in this project because I have always wanted to get involved in the Roanoke Arts world. I have never really known how to without a degree in Art or working in the field. Art in all forms is my passion. I think everyone can relate to another through art even when they aren’t on the same page.

The sense of being surrounded by mountains like a hug from your family. The star to the Wells Fargo building to the river- all remind me of home. The colors of the city and surrounding landscape are ever changing. The people that make up the city are always interesting if you decide to listen or watch, they’ll tell a story.
